Solid hardwood floors
come in a wide range of dimensions and styles, with each plank made of solid wood and milled from a single piece of timber. Solid hardwood floors were originally used for structural purposes, being installed perpendicular to the wooden support beams of a building. Modern construction techniques now rarely use wood building frames and solid hardwood floors are used almost exclusively for their appearance.
Floated Subfloor for Gym Flooring Installation
Floating subfloor is a very common gym floor underlayment. First A vapor retarder is installed.
Then 2 layers nominal 1/2” (12mm) minimum CD Exposure 1 Plywood subfloor panels (CDX) 4’ X 8′ sheets. with Performance Pads attached. 32 per sheet.
the first plywood layer with edges parallel to wall, without fastening between wall and plywood. the second layer perpendicular or at 45 degree angle to the first. Stapled or staple and glue (with urethane or construction adhesive) the second layer
